pertains to more
than just a
visitation. Rather,
this is a component
of a larger project
engineered to
promote and
celebrate the
release of
Simian Mobile
Disco‘s second
full length album Temporary
Pleasure. This
statement isn’t
meant to demystify
the session or
detract from the
sexuality of
three men crammed
into a small, hot
sound booth. If
anything, joining
forces with American
Apparel and its
radio affiliate is a
pretty sexual
move in the
music marketing
world. Just ask Mr.
Tellier.

Aware of this, the
dance duo compiled a
sensual and
pulsating
playlist
spanning about an
hour and a half
worth of ram jamz.
The tunes were
interspersed with
great conversation
bits between the SMD
and Tedward,
whose kooky
mid-western
commentary sat in
the passenger seat
to the selectors’
driving dry British
wit. All the better
too, because after
blowin’ the kinds of
aural loads that are
soon to blast
countless listeners
(we dare you to try
and dodge), a good
laugh is all that’s
left to let out.

Honestly, it’s
humorous to hear
about the unleashing
of classic Chicago
house only to have
it go over the heads
of thousands of
Chicagoans, as well
as hearing about
straight men dancing
to Patrick
Cowley’s
ultra-gay “Menergy”.

So, if this is the
beginning of what
promises to be a
worthwhile endeavor
for all parties
involved, then
it seems like a
promise that’s to be
kept with a wink,
wank, and thank you
