It’s a ton of fun. It goes all the way back to 1995, back when Dov was pretty much exclusively making
the 2001 and “baby tees” (he very well may be the originator of those midriff-exposing stretchy cap-
sleeved tops so loved by the original 90210 generation) in South Carolina.
Here’s one from when he first headed west and met his first business partners, Sam Lim and Sam Kim.
He had a few dozen rolls of fabric, a semi-stolen rental car, and a cell phone that resembled a brick,
and Sam and Sam had 20 sewing machines and needed some work. Thus, Made in Downtown LA was
born! And as they say, the rest is pretty unbelievable.
