It is with great
pleasure that we add
POSSO
the DJ to the
Viva roster. No,
POSSO is not a
robust man of
Italian descent but
rather the name of
an LA-based umbrella
organization that
pertains to a fashion
line, a magazine,
and a DJ duo
consisting of the
two gorgeous women
behind the concept.
Vanessa
Giovacchini and
Marylouise
Pels pooled
their creative
aspirations together
to create a
wellspring in which
anyone with a sexy
tooth would like to
take a dip.
Neither a flash in
the pan or a
sputtering of the
hype machine, these
two lifelong friends
conceived an
all-around enticing
universe that
marries intriguing
styles and deep
sounds. Having been
friends since the
age of “3″, not long
after college the
ladies decided that
they wanted to
realize their
aesthetic dreams.
After devising an
avant-garde
approach to
dealing in fashion,
they chose to bring
back spats -
an accessory
originating from the
early 20th century
that (depending on
the degree of the
design) covers the
top of the foot,
shin, and possibly
even the knee.
They’re made of
leather and they
look pretty damn
sleek.
The POSSO ladies
would argue that
style informs music
and vice versa. It’s
expression, whereas
it can be argued
that one form would
be more visual and
the other visceral.
However, not wanting
settle for one or
the other, they
also took the
initiative to DJ
- at parties, in
clubs, or at home,
making
mixes for you to
listen to where ever
the hel you please.
And now, you can
choose to follow
their tasteful
inclinations on Viva,
for they recently
landed themselves a
show on this here
station.
With all of this
under their Pyramid
belts, these
seem to be the sort
of achievements that
reveal a working
relationship based
on an appreciation
for one another and
a trust that would
allow left-field
ideas to glide
gracefully into the
center of attention.
That makes us pretty
happy.
Welcome, POSSO.
